Library Usage & Service
Here you can find out how to consult the CATS Library’s collection—comprising around 600,000 volumes of monographs and journals as well as numerous other media—on-site, borrow items for home use, or access resources digitally.
You can also use this page to reserve study spaces, carrels, and group study rooms, as well as equipment such as laptops, projectors, and similar items.
General
The reading room is open to everyone. Workstations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Five reservable reading spaces are available for CATS members. If the number of readers exceeds the available seating, library staff may clear workstations that are occupied by belongings but not by a person after 60 minutes and make them available for others to use.
Media usage
Our staff at the circulation desk are happy to assist you with any inquiries. For in-depth consultation with our subject librarians, you are welcome to arrange an individual appointment by emailing library@cats.uni-heidelberg.de. If you need materials in the reading room for an extended period, you can request to have an in-house reserve set up.
